Every component in a Snap cabinet is CNC machined and prepped for field assembly. This page covers the box construction, the joining system, the back panel details, drawer specs, and the full technical reference for contractors speccing a job.
Most cabinet manufacturers cut costs on the back panel. Snap doesn’t. Every Snap cabinet uses full 3/4″ Columbia Forest Products PureBond plywood on all panels, including the back. The back is CNC machined with a full dado capture – grooved into all four sides for maximum holding strength. No hanger rails. No weak points.
All panels are CNC machined to 0.001″ increments. Have an odd panel size? It’s yours. Every cabinet is made to exact spec – no standard increments, no forced sizing.
A dado-captured back distributes wall load across the entire rear panel rather than concentrating it on a few hanger-rail fasteners. On heavy-load applications - full-height pantries, utility cabinets, commercial installs - the difference in long-term wall holding strength is significant.
Full 3/4" PureBond plywood back panel, CNC machined, dado-groove captures the back into all four sides. Wall load is distributed across the entire back surface. No hanger rail required.
Thin back panel (typically 1/4") stapled or glued in place, or hanger rail system that concentrates load at a few fastener points.
The Lamello Tenso P-System is an Italian-engineered joining system. Two-piece male/female connectors are installed into pre-machined kerns in each panel. On site, the panels snap together, the snap-locks engage, and the joint is complete.
No glue. No clamps. No waiting for adhesive to cure. A trained installer can assemble a cabinet box in approximately 2 minutes. On a 30-cabinet kitchen, that’s roughly an hour of assembly time versus a full day with traditional frame construction.
All panels are prepped for optional screw securement if a contractor or inspector requires it.
Traditional frame cabinets: 15-20 minutes each. On a 30-cabinet kitchen that's roughly 7-8 hours of saved labor. At any reasonable crew rate, that's a meaningful number on every job.
Snap drawer boxes are built from solid maple with a UV finish and dovetail corner joinery. Dovetail construction is the standard for quality cabinetry – it creates a mechanical joint that’s stronger under load rather than relying on glue or fasteners alone.
Bottoms are 1/2″ thick for extra rigidity. Available up to 45″ wide in a 100LB undermount configuration: Blum Tandem BLUMOTION 100LB soft-close undermount slides are standard on every drawer.
